Penrallt is a four acre smallholding situated at 200m altitude overlooking the Cambrian mountains Cader Idris and the Dyfi valley, a UNESCO designated Biosphere resersve. For the past 12 years the artists Pippa Taylor and Jony Easterbyhave been renovating the buildings and re-invigorating the landscape as a place for living, creating, growing and the nuture of flora and fuana. Digging ponds, planting hedgerows, trees and flowers.

The land is an important space for wildlife in a sheep grazed desert. In a sad state of neglect when we arrived both house and land had suffered from a lack of renovation and the onslaught of sheep grazing respectively. Once a 60 acre upland farm holding, now devoid of its land, it acts as a base for our aspirations for working and living.

Dark skies, silent hills, epic sunsets, swallows nests, red kites, flowers, frogs, newts bees worksops set in gardens are just some of the joys of living here.

Future plans are to slowly renovate the extensive outbuildings to craete artists work spaces for international residencies and collaborations.
